This labrador has had a couple of operations to replace what was thought to be a prolapsed nictitans gland but has now developed this substantial unilateral chemosis, resistant to topical steroid. What might be happening?
Well I’m not sure but my concern is that somewhere in that third eyelid there is a mast cell tumour that is pumping out histamine and similar chemicals which could be causing the chemosis.
